DENVER -- A community theater owner from Litttleton has been arrested a third time on accusations of Internet sexual exploitation of a child. The Eagle County Sheriff's Office said Gerald Allan Schell, 46, had sexual conversations on the Internet with someone he thought was a 14-year-old girl. The girl was actually an undercover deputy.Schell is facing similar charges in Parker and Jefferson County.
The latest charge from Eagle County comes after a four-month investigation, said Shannon Cordingly, a spokeswoman for the Eagle County Sheriff's Office. Schell chatted several times since July with the undercover deputy and the conversation became sexual in nature, Cordingly said.Schell had just bonded out of Parker when Eagle County authorities obtained an arrest warrant for him, Cordingly said. Deputies were hoping to serve Schell while he was in jail but did not obtain the warrant in time, Cordingly said.Instead, after he bonded out, Schell turned himself in to the Eagle County Detention Facility. He has posted a $15,000 bond and is due in Eagle County Court on Nov. 25.Last week he was arrested by Parker police on the same charges. At the time he was arrested last week, he was out on $15,000 bond from Jefferson County.Schell is expected in Jefferson County District Court on Nov. 20, where he faces two Internet luring charges stemming from a September arrest.Cordingly said the online conversations in the three jurisdictions may have occurred around the same time period or overlapped in some months.Schell is owner of MSI Theatre Productions in Englewood.
