Power Locks Trap Woman In Her Own Car

Battery Died While Driver Was On Road

A woman in Lafayette had to call police for help Tuesday after she got locked inside her own car.

The woman's black Honda Civic broke down just before 7 a.m. while she was driving along U.S. 287 and South Boulder Road.

The woman's car battery apparently died, rendering the power locks useless, Lafayette police Sgt. Fred Palmer told the Boulder Daily Camera newspaper.

Because the woman was panicked, and it was rush hour, officers were sent to help show her how to manually unlock the car from the inside.

While officers were on the way, the woman called dispatchers back and said she figured it out on her own.

Police sent a tow truck to help the woman.
