The Colorado Bureau of Investigation canceled an Amber Alert Saturday afternoon after an 8-year-old girl was found safe.

The Amber Alert was issued Saturday morning when the girl's father discovered her missing from her bedroom in their Watkins, Colo., home at about 5:40 a.m. The window screen in her bedroom had been removed and the back door was unlocked, he said.

Aurora police found the girl with her mother, Jackie Lee Hall, 43. They were in Hall's green, 1998 Ford F150 pickup truck in Aurora.

Hall has been taken into custody. Hall is from California and had recently visited Brandy, authorities said. The CBI believed they may have been heading to California.

Hall also has several outstanding warrants for her arrest, and a previous charge for cruelty towards a child, the CBI said.

The investigation into the case is ongoing.
