DENVER -- Denver police are investigating two homicides that happened over the weekend.On Saturday, Denver police conducting a welfare check at an apartment complex on South Cherry Street found the body of a man suffering from an unknown trauma.Investigators said that around midnight Friday, witnesses heard arguing coming from the apartment belonging to the victim.
Detectives will investigate this case as a homicide, said Denver police spokesman Detective John White.Police did not release the name of the man or how he died.
Police: Man Shot After Argument
Sunday morning, police responded to that area around 15th Avenue and Decantur Street after reports of a shooting and found a man with a gunshot wound.Paramedics took the man to Denver Health where he later died, said White.Investigators said witnesses saw the victim involved in an argument with another man.Police received a number of other reports of shots fired and assaults in the area around the time of the shooting, White said.The man's identity has not yet been released pending notification of next of kin.Copyright 2008 by TheDenverChannel.com.
