DENVER -- A 32-year old man who died after an accident at Vail Mountain in the state's 17th fatality at a resort was from Lakewood. Martin Fierro was skiing on an intermediate run In The Wuides in Blue Sky Basin on Vail Mountain. He was taken to the Vail Valley Medical Center where he later died. Vail Ski Resort didn't provide details of the latest accident. Andre said he was wearing a helmet.
At least 20 people have died from skiing or snowboarding accidents in Colorado this season, including three who were in the backcountry.
