Skier From Denver Dies At Vail

Man Injured On Intermediate Run

A 32-year-old man who died after an accident on an intermediate run on Vail Mountain is the 17th death reported after an accident at a Colorado ski area this season.

Spokeswoman Jen Brown said the man was injured on the run In The Wuides in Blue Sky Basin on Vail Mountain.

The ski patrol responded and took the man to an ambulance at the bottom of the mountain, Brown said.

He was taken to the Vail Valley Medical Center where he later died.

The skier was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident, Brown said.

At least 20 people have died from skiing or snowboarding accidents in Colorado this season, including three who were in the backcountry.
