Where Can I Recycle In My Community?

Collecting recyclables varies from community to community, but there are four primary methods: curbside, drop-off centers, buy-back centers, and deposit/refund programs.

You can find some basic residential recycling information for Cities in Colorado below.

Most municipalities in Colorado do not provide trash service, so curbside recycling is not offered. Fortunately, most residential trash haulers also provide curbside recycling for a small fee with trash pick-up. Some communities have drop-off locations for a variety of recyclable items. To find one near you go to Colorado Recycles.org

AURORA:

Aurora does not provide municipal trash service; therefore recycling is not sponsored by the city. However, most of the trash hauling companies registered with the city offer curbside recycling with trash service. The city does sponsor an annual Household Chemical Roundup accepting items such as paint and paint products, used motor oil, antifreeze, vehicle batteries, and tires. BOULDER:

If you live in the City of Boulder you can signup for curbside recycle through several trash haulers. If you live in Boulder County, almost all cities have curbside recycling options as well as Recycling Drop-off Centers. Boulder County also has a Center for Hard-To-Recycle Materials. You can recycle items such as Computers, TVs, foam packaging, books and much more. Some items are free and some have a small fee for recycling. DENVER:

The City and County of Denver offers curbside recycling pickup for most residents. Denver also provides many other programs such as free Household Hazardous Waste Collection, LeafDrop, Treecycle and Mulch Giveaway and Compost Sale. You can also sign up for a free compost class. FT. COLLINS:

If you live in Ft.Collins, the city requires trash haulers to provide weekly unlimited curbside recycling for homes. Fort Collins residents and small businesses can recycle a variety of materials at the City's full-service recycling drop-off facility. Go to FCgov.com/recycling for guidelines on recyclable items, se! rvices and drop location. Larimer County provides a recycling center at The Larimer County Landfill. They accept items like, glass, aluminum cans, tin cans, plastic bottles, newspaper, magazines, cardboard, office paper and much more. LITTLETON AND ENGLEWOOD:

In the cities of Littleton and Englewood trash hauling in privately contracted by residents. Most companies providing trash service, also provide recycling curbside service. Both cities sponsor an autumn leaf collection on two Saturdays usually in November. For two week after Christmas, the City of Littleton and South Suburban Parks and Recreation residents can drop off Christmas trees which the city will mulch.
