DENVER -- For many parents, finding a good, dependable babysitter isn't easy."You want to make sure you're getting people you can trust," said mom Sarah Humphreys.People parents can trust and have flexible hours to help them out.
"I'm just looking for maybe some evenings, weekend, because we never go out anymore," said one Denver Mom.Mommy Mixer is a social gathering that helps connect busy moms with college students who are looking to help out. It's a service that allows both Moms and potential babysitters to meet face to face for an hour and see if there's a match. Moms have a binder with pictures of each candidate. Everyone stands up to do a brief introduction and express what they need."I have a 4-month-old at home. I need somebody who can take care of a baby that cries," said one mom in front of the crowded room."I've got experience with infants to all ages. I work at a Boys and Girls club," said one sophomore student at the social.Mommy Mixer started in Texas back in 2003 and now has socials all over the United States. It costs $100 for each mom's first time, then $75 thereafter. For babysitters it's free. Mommy Mixer employees help recruit high quality students on college campuses.
