Doctors are finding that it's not only food and exercise that may affect your weight.

De-cluttering rooms in your home can help increase your chances of losing weight. First magazine recently spoke to doctors about the connection between clutter and over-eating. Clutter is a constant reminder of tasks left undone and problems unsolved. Unneccessary clutter in the bedroom blocks alpha brain waves that are associated with the onset of sleep. According to researchers at the University of Chicago, fatigue leads to an increase in appetite stimulating hormones causing women to up their food intake by up to 1,000 calories. Disorganization in the kitchen causes a similar over-stimulation of the stress related hormone cortisol. Pamela Peeke, Ph.D. links the surge of appetite increasing cortisol to overeating in the room where food is most readily available. By simply reorganizing and tidying up your bedroom or kitchen, you can decrease your stress levels and better your chances of losing weight.

We've all heard of pollution, but have you ever heard of electropollution? The little gadgets in your house may be affecting your weight. Sherrill Sellman, N.D. has done research that finds electromagnetic fields emit an electropollution that's making women sick and overweight. Doctors have found that these electromagnetic emmissions from cell phones, microwaves and other gadgets can affect the body's weight regulating mechanisms. Doctors say we should all protect ourselves from electromagnetic emmissions. A few tips...step away from the microwave when you're cooking something, keep your phone at least 5 feet away from the bed and get rid of your electric blankets.
