Hudson's DogBlog - Working Like A Dog
Chapter 2
March 9, 2007 Someone asked what I do at Channel 7. Well, here's a typical day for me:•Attend the morning news meeting; accept pats and adoration from producers, reporters, and photographers and listen for someone to pitch a dog story for the newscast;
•Take a nap in the Call 7 for Help office;•Greet Call 7 for Help volunteers when they arrive;•Attend the 7Everyday Hero Committee meeting (I’m a non-voting member, though I do pay particular attention to nominees who work with dogs)•Nap in the hallway outside the Call 7 for Help office;•Meet guests for the 11 a.m. broadcast (I am especially fond of the Denver Dumb Friends League staff and the pets they bring with them)•Take a short walk outside;•Get a big, slurpy drink from my dish and then lay my dripping muzzle in someone’s lap *snicker*•Sit in the doorway of the Call 7 for Help office and monitor Channel 7 employees as they return from lunch (no, they never bring me doggie bags, but I continue to hold out hope);•Chew on a Nylabone until I fall asleep;•Go with Marianne, my puppy raiser, to the control room for the 4 p.m. show•Nap through the show, unless there's a dog story to watch•Yawn, stretch, and stare pointedly at the clock until Marianne realizes it’s time to go home for DINNER, my favorite time of day (after breakfast).Next time, I'll tell you more about my training.Chow for now!HudsonFor more information on Canine Companions for Independence, go to www.cci.org
