Your 24/7 Planning Forecast: For the next 5 to 7 days, widely scattered afternoon thunderstorms may bring temporary relief from the heat wave. Most of the storms will bring little rain, gusty winds and lightning. Fire danger will remain high across the region. Be careful with any outdoor burning or fireworks. Extended Outlook, 8 to 14 days: The Climate Prediction Center's forecast for the next 7-14 days is calling for warmer than average temperatures and below average precipitation for Colorado. July will likely continue to bring on the heat, but not much rain through the first two weeks. We will hope to have the monsoon flow kick in by the second half of the month and bring in some badly needed rains.
