LAKEWOOD, Colo. -- This week's 7Everyday Hero is a retired Air Force sergeant and Colorado native, but now he spends his time serving his community. At South Lakewood Elementary School, the kids know Marvin as "Gramps."Twice a week -- for 14 years -- Gramps has grabbed his coffee mug and some books and headed to class. He loves the kids and reads to them every day he goes to the school. When Marvin walks in the door, there is electricity that happens in the building. He thinks of South Lakewood Elementary as his school and he brags about it all the time.
Marvin likes to refer to something he heard years ago: If you look into the eyes of a child you can see the face of God -- and he believes it.
