PARKER, Colo. -- It isn’t unusual for a couple of dozen people to show up when Channel 7 surprises an Everyday Hero – but the crowd at this week’s presentation was the largest ever. It seems everyone in the town of Parker is thankful for this week’s Hero: Dale Farmer.Meet Mr. Parker. It isn’t his real name, but it might as well be. Dale Farmer is the town of Parker’s number one volunteer. He’s been involved in just about everything that’s happened, including Parker’s “Double Angel Ballpark”, where Logan and Dillon Fields are named after two boys from Parker. Logan and Dillon were lost from carbon dioxide eight years ago behind a house boat on Lake Powell. The Double Angel Foundation helps raise awareness about carbon dioxide and it raised money for the ball fields. The ball fields were built as a memorial – all the boys love baseball. Dale loves baseball too, and he enjoys helping others.
Dale Farmer epitomizes the home town community spirit found in Parker. He believes it’s the responsibility of a community to help others and provide things to do for the young people.
