COMMERCE CITY, Colo. -- Everyone enjoys spreading a little cheer now and then. For this week's 7Everyday Heroes, it's a weekly event. They are part of the Commerce City Music Makers, and they specialize in having fun. The Music Makers perform at retirement centers and community events, sometimes doing 25 performances a year.Mildred Baker is one of the founders of the group, but these days Bob and Carmen Kreutzer keep the group humming. They keep people smiling.
They have gone to nursing homes to perform, and while some of the residents may not be with it, when they hear the music they're stomping their feet and clicking their fingers. They have actually had them get out of their wheelchairs and dance.Bob and Carmen do it for the camaraderie -- giving back to someone else. They said if it turns out to be work, then they aren’t having fun.
