DENVER -- You may not be able to tell from the outside, but inside countless churches and community centers in Colorado, there’s work being done for the homeless. For many people, life’s joy comes from serving others. Take Andy Pfaff. He’s volunteered for the “Catholic Worker Soup Kitchen” for more than 20 years.Andy and others meet at Denver’s Saint Paul’s Methodist Church twice a week to prepare a meal for the homeless. Grocery stores donate the food and the volunteers prepare the meals. Hundreds rely on the “Catholic Worker Soup Kitchen.”
None of this would happen without volunteers – people who give from the heart. People like Andy Pfaff. Andy says he isn’t rich or anything, but he has the time and he isn’t poor – and these people need help. He just likes to help people when he can, and he believes you have to help others if you’re going to live in this world.
