LAFAYETTE, Colo. -- Hospitals rely on volunteers, and most medical centers in town have 300 or more. But there’s one in Lafayette the whole staff looks up to. Enthusiasm has a name at Exempla Good Samaritan Medical Center in Lafayette – it’s Mary Juszynski. She volunteers at the “Prairie Winds Gift Shop”. And if you can keep up with her, you’ll find Mary helping everyone else in the hospital too.Mary’s efforts have earned her recognition from the White House. She wears two badges: one says “President’s Volunteer Service Award” and the other says “President’s Call to Service Award”, representing more than five thousand volunteer hours!
Mary loves it when people come in and need a little sympathy – a little bit of care. It’s much more than a gift shop to her.
