Teens Can Drive In Style With New, Used Cars

Kelley Blue Book Announces Annual List

POSTED: 9:12 am MDT August 25, 2008

Most students are either getting ready to head back to school or are already in class. Whether school is across the country or across town, the start of school may require a new or used car. Kelley Blue Book released its list of the top 10 new and used cars that students and their parents should consider.

"There are so many options these days, in both the new- and used-car realm, for safe, fun and affordable back-to-school rides," said Jack R. Nerad, executive editorial director and executive market analyst for Kelley Blue Book and kbb.com.

Parents and students may disagree on what is important in a car -- parents want practicality and safety, while teens opt for cool and fast -- but Nerad said that their lists are well suited for both.

"Vehicles are better built and better equipped than ever before, and there are a variety of body-style options available to suit the needs of any parent, and inevitably satisfy the wants of any teen," Nerad said.

Nerad said automakers have made it easier for cars to have everything. Entry-level new cars provide more for less and used cars are more reliable than ever.
